Help4 Net

FAQ for launch and scale.

These are the most common questions for Free, Pro, and Enterprise rollout. If you need domain-specific guidance, open a support request and we will map the exact setup.

General

What is the difference between Plugin Mode and DNS Mode?

Plugin Mode covers free WordPress-managed asset acceleration. Paid Pro and Enterprise use DNS Mode for Help4 nameservers, GeoDNS policy, full proxy, and WAF coverage after validation.

Do I need to buy anything to start Free?

No. Free can start from the plugin with automatic activation when capacity is available in the assigned cluster.

Does Help4 Net replace my origin server?

No. Origin remains your source of truth. If a POP is unhealthy or limits are hit, the system can fall back to origin delivery.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade paths are built into account licensing and plan sync logic so features adjust automatically.

GeoDNS, anycast, and SEO

Why use GeoDNS instead of relying only on anycast?

Anycast is useful, but GeoDNS gives Help4 Net a nameserver-level steering control. Traffic can be answered by region, POP health, provider path, and operational policy before the visitor connects.

Is GeoDNS always faster than anycast?

No. The honest advantage is control. Anycast can be very fast when paths are healthy. GeoDNS becomes especially useful when a path is reachable but slow, when a provider has trouble, or when an operator needs to prefer or drain a POP deliberately.

Is the $8 Pro plan enough for WordPress speed?

For many WordPress sites, yes. The $8 Pro plan adds more POP reach, 1GB storage, 1TB transfer, Help4 DNS, GeoDNS, full proxy, WAF controls, and stronger cache controls after domain assignment and validation.

When is the $20 WAF/proxy plan worth it?

Use the $20 starting Enterprise plan when the whole site needs full proxy routing, WAF policy, origin shielding, GeoDNS route control, and operational visibility.

Will Help4 Net guarantee better Google rankings?

No CDN or WAF should promise guaranteed rankings. Help4 Net helps the technical foundation: speed, HTTPS stability, cache behavior, origin safety, and availability. Search performance still depends on useful content, intent match, authority, and overall site quality.

Free plan

What does Free include?

250MB storage, 100GB monthly transfer, and Detroit + 2 additional POP seats for a total of 3 POPs.

What file restrictions apply on Free?

Free blocks executable and archive-style risk classes. Video files are capped at 10MB per file. Static web assets are the primary target.

Why are some POPs unavailable when I try to select them?

Free POP seats are capacity-gated. If a city is full, new Free assignments are paused there until space opens or more capacity is added.

What happens when Free cache objects become stale?

In DNS-mode free profiles, inactive objects expire on a shorter cycle and can be rewarmed from plugin cron when needed.

Pro plan

What does Pro include?

1GB storage, 1TB monthly transfer, Detroit + 5 additional POP seats, plus Help4 DNS, GeoDNS, full proxy, WAF controls, and stronger policy controls.

Can Pro use full DNS proxy?

Yes. Pro can use Help4 nameservers and validate the assigned production domain for full proxy and WAF coverage.

What are Pro media limits?

Pro supports larger files than Free, including up to 100MB video and up to 250MB max file size under the base policy.

Does Pro support IPv6-aware POP choices?

Yes, when the assigned cluster supports dual-stack POP reporting, Pro can prefer IPv6-capable POPs.

Enterprise plan

What does Enterprise change?

Enterprise adds advanced WAF controls, GeoDNS route policy, and cluster-wide POP execution with advanced observability on top of the paid full-proxy model.

How much storage is included in Enterprise?

Enterprise starts with 2GB base storage and can scale with add-ons based on workload profile.

Can Enterprise customers manage allow/block controls?

Yes. Enterprise supports ACL controls such as IP/country/ASN policies plus additional WAF settings.

Is Enterprise always-on proxy?

Enterprise is designed for full proxy routing, but controlled bypass and fallback options exist for maintenance and troubleshooting workflows.

Security and compliance

Do you scan content before distribution?

Uploads are scanned as part of ingest/security workflow before broad distribution profiles are applied.

Do you support compliance requirements?

The platform includes SOC 2 control documentation, HIPAA-ready operational baseline controls, and global privacy alignment documentation for planned operating regions.

Do you claim certification on this page?

No. Public messaging uses control and readiness language. Certification or attestation claims are only made when formally completed.

How do I report security issues?

Use support channels in your account and include domain, timestamp, and impacted URL examples so triage can run fast.

Operations

How do cache clears work?

Plans support cache clear actions with guardrails. Free has tighter rate limits to prevent abuse; higher tiers get broader control scope.

Where can I view network health?

The public status page shows high-level POP and GeoDNS state, while operations dashboards provide deeper metrics.

What if my site changes often?

The plugin is built to sync content changes and can trigger cache refresh behavior for updated site assets.

How do I upgrade from Free to Pro or Enterprise?

Use the upgrade links in plugin or account portal. Plan entitlements are synced and reflected in your CDN profile automatically.
